Our Mission
Wear Radio is a fresh new on-line radio station, unique to the Wear Valley, offering a great new sound to local radio broadcasting.

Using the latest technology you can now listen to high quality audio in places where it wasn’t possible just five years ago, without the need for a conventional radio, or a conventional listening experience.

Wear Radio broadcasts live from the heart of the Wear Valley, bringing a local perspective to the people of the area to keep people in-touch with their roots whilst traveling or living elsewhere. A great blend of chat and music mixed with local news and gossip gives the listener a fantastic traditional radio station together with the compelling and flexible content on our Listen Again service, for use on an iPod, netback or 3G mobile phone.

Our History
Given birth in the spring of 2009 and background work being completed across the summer to bring Wear Radio to trial broadcast stage with a full launch planned from the autumn of 2009 the radio station will provide work based opportunities for local presenters and commercial roles alike and the founders hope to be part of the local media scene with Wear Radio FM being a real prospect by 2011.
